Funeral Home Offers Influencer Package For Families Who Want Ring Light Near The Casket
The director says families grieve differently, and some grieve in portrait mode beside lilies.
A funeral home has begun offering an influencer package for families who want a ring light near the casket.
The package includes discreet lighting, a tripod, a floral backdrop, a wireless microphone, and one staff member trained to say "take your time" while moving a guestbook so a niece can capture the correct angle of devastation.
"Families grieve differently," said funeral director Maureen Voss. "Some tell stories. Some sit quietly. Some need portrait mode beside lilies because the caption has already done half the work."
The package also includes three tasteful thumbnail options, a short-form remembrance template, and a privacy screen for mourners who do not want to appear in the background of a video titled Losing My Rock While Wearing My Rock.
Voss said the funeral home drew the line at unboxing urns, though she admitted the phrase "ashes reveal" had already been said in a planning meeting by someone young enough to survive it.
Families can upgrade to the Premium Legacy package, which adds soft piano music, a guest Wi-Fi code, and a social media coordinator who can gently tell cousins that boomerang videos near the portrait are not helping anyone.
The funeral home said demand has been strong, especially among relatives who describe the deceased as private and then ask whether the ring light can make tears look less yellow.
