RFK Jr. Says Mosquitoes Deserve To Do Their Own Research Before Being Sprayed

Public health officials say the mosquito research period may overlap badly with the part where mosquitoes bite people.

RFK Jr. has urged public health departments to let mosquitoes do their own research before spraying, arguing that America's insects deserve access to both sides of the larvicide debate.

The proposal would require local governments to pause mosquito control efforts long enough for mosquitoes to review studies, watch several long videos, and ask whether puddles have been unfairly demonized by Big Screens.

"I am not anti-spray," said wellness policy adviser Crispin Vale, summarizing the position from behind a table covered in jars. "I am pro-consent for every tiny citizen with a proboscis and a complicated relationship to standing water."

Public health officials warned that the plan could give mosquitoes valuable time to breed, bite, and form a Substack about how citronella is social control.

Supporters said the research period would give communities time to have conversations, mostly by scratching their ankles in parking lots while a county official explains that the mosquito has requested more data.

One Florida county has already begun placing QR codes near drainage ditches so mosquitoes can access educational materials, though early feedback suggests the insects prefer blood and do not respect PDF formatting.

At press time, a mosquito had landed on the proposal and immediately voted with its face.
