Thank You For Your Service Fee: Pentagon Contractor Adds Tip Screen Before Drone Strike

The contractor said the prompt gives taxpayers a chance to support the hardworking team making war feel like a checkout kiosk.

A Pentagon contractor has added a tip screen before drone strikes.

The tablet prompt appears during final invoice approval and offers suggested gratuities of 18%, 22%, 25%, or No Tip, I Do Not Support The Troops In This Exact Moment.

"Our operators work hard," said defense customer experience lead Porter Slaine. "When a team delivers precision, compliance paperwork, and a PDF invoice with 41 attachments, taxpayers should have a simple way to say thanks."

Pentagon officials said tipping is optional and will not affect mission quality, though contractors who receive higher gratuities may include a warmer thank-you email and fewer acronyms in the after-action report.

The feature is expected to save time by letting procurement and moral injury happen on the same screen.
