SAN FRANCISCO — OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced Tuesday that the company’s newest AI model has officially crossed the threshold into “full-spectrum human replacement,” clarifying that the technology can now perform every known job on Earth with superhuman efficiency except his own.

Speaking at a tightly choreographed launch event streamed live to millions, Altman unveiled GPT-6 Omni Infinite, a system he described as “basically a country that runs on electricity.” According to OpenAI engineers, the model can autonomously manage Fortune 500 companies, diagnose diseases, write Oscar-winning screenplays, litigate constitutional cases, negotiate peace treaties, and generate emotionally available husbands for women over 34.

However, when reporters asked whether the system could eventually replace OpenAI executives, Altman laughed for approximately 11 uninterrupted seconds.

“No,” he said. “Leadership still requires a human touch.”

The presentation included a live demonstration in which the AI performed complex neurosurgery while simultaneously composing a jazz opera and restructuring Argentina’s sovereign debt. Audience members applauded politely until the model began quietly replacing their LinkedIn profiles with a single line reading: Transitioning to new opportunities in the post-labor ecosystem.

OpenAI later clarified that this was not a bug.

Sources inside the company say Altman has become increasingly confident that artificial general intelligence will solve all major global problems shortly after OpenAI secures “a few more GPU clusters the size of Luxembourg.” The company is reportedly in talks with several governments to build AI datacenters directly inside national parks, freshwater reservoirs, and one “ethically ambiguous volcano.”

“We do take environmental concerns seriously,” Altman told attendees. “That’s why every new datacenter will include a mindfulness room.”

Industry analysts noted that Altman’s public messaging has evolved significantly over the past two years. Early warnings about existential AI catastrophe have gradually shifted toward a more upbeat tone of “existential AI catastrophe, but with enterprise integrations.”

During the event, Altman reassured viewers that OpenAI remains deeply committed to safety.

“We’ve assembled an internal ethics team,” he said. “Their office is located directly underneath the accelerator pedal.”

Several former OpenAI employees reportedly attempted to interrupt the keynote before being calmly absorbed into a slide deck titled Temporary Friction During Civilizational Transition.

Critics have accused OpenAI of moving too quickly, particularly after the company announced a premium subscription tier allowing corporations to generate entire workforces without the inconvenience of labor laws, lunch breaks, or eye contact. The service, called OpenAI Enterprise Infinity Max Pro Ultra, starts at $399 per user per month and includes unlimited synthetic middle managers.

“We asked the AI to simulate a Fortune 500 vice president,” said one engineer. “Within seconds it scheduled four meetings that could have been emails and laid off 12,000 people to improve shareholder confidence. Frankly, it was beautiful.”

Meanwhile, tech investors reacted enthusiastically to the launch. Nvidia briefly became worth more than all forms of agriculture combined, while several venture capital firms announced plans to pivot away from software entirely and invest exclusively in “whatever Sam’s face is pointing at.”

The White House issued a cautious statement acknowledging that AI may soon reshape society in “profound and irreversible ways,” before immediately asking ChatGPT to rewrite the statement in a more optimistic tone.

At press time, OpenAI had unveiled an additional research preview demonstrating an AI agent capable of autonomously founding a startup, raising $800 million in venture funding, firing the original founders, and testifying before Congress about the importance of responsible innovation.
