The new feature was met with excitement from the Twitter community, especially the…less savory members of the platform.
“This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for,” said one anonymous user. “Now I can just look for the checkmark and I’ll know exactly who to slide into.”
Another user said, “This is going to save me so much time and energy. No more having to guess if someone is into it or not.”
However, the new checkmark has been criticized by some users, who feel that it’s objectifying and promoting “unsafe” behavior.
Musk, however, has defended the new feature, saying that it’s a way to ensure that users are aware of potential dangers when engaging with other users.
“I understand the concern, but this is about empowering people to make informed decisions about who they interact with,” Musk said.
