Disney Raises Ticket Prices But Includes One Memory That Belongs To Someone Richer

The premium memory will be assigned at random and may involve a stroller, a churro, or a father who did not check his bank app.

Disney announced a new ticket price increase that will include one complimentary memory belonging to a richer family, giving budget-conscious guests access to the warm residue of a vacation they could not fully afford.

The Premium Shared Childhood feature assigns each family a random high-quality moment from another guest’s trip, such as “Dad bought everyone churros without checking the app,” “Mom said yes to the sweatshirt,” or “nobody discussed parking until the drive home.”

“Magic means different things to different families,” said experience pricing executive Carla Venn. “For some, it is riding the coaster. For others, it is briefly inheriting the confidence of a family that did not pack lunch meat in a hotel ice bucket.”

Guests can upgrade to Memory Plus for access to a richer family’s argument that ends before the fireworks because their children are hydrated and everyone has blister tape.

Disney said the feature will roll out after the company finishes testing a lower-cost tier where families may stand near a happy child and try to absorb the sound.
