Billy Ray Cyrus of “Achy Breaky Heart” fame has been accused of stealing catalytic converters around the country. Sources close to the singer say that he has been moonlighting as a “catalytic converter burglar” for some time.
In a statement, his daughter Miley Cyrus alludes to her father’s criminal activity in her most popular songs. “We Can’t Stop” takes on a whole new meaning when you realize that he unable to stop his crimes, despite pleases from his daughter to stop.
One of her most popular songs, “Party in the USA,” has taken on a whole new meaning in light of the accusations. It has been alleged the original chorus for the song was: “It’s not a party in the USA, until the catalytic converter’s been stolen away!“, the lyrics were changed at the request of her father to cover up his crimes.
Miley has also spoken out directly against her father’s actions. She recently posted on Instagram: “I love my dad, but stealing catalytic converters is not cool. There are other ways to make money, let’s find one that doesn’t involve breaking the law.”
There is no word yet on whether or not Miley will be called to testify against her father. It’s unclear if she will use her music to prove her father’s guilt or if she is trying to protect his innocence.
