Legendary musician Eric Clapton reportedly flipped off the entire crowd during a sold-out concert at London’s O2 Arena last night.
The incident occurred during a particularly emotional rendition of Clapton’s hit song “Tears in Heaven,” when the guitar god suddenly paused mid-solo, gave the crowd the middle finger, and shouted, “Screw you all, I’m sick of playing this sappy crap!“
The crowd was reportedly stunned as Clapton smashed his guitar on stage and stormed off, leaving fans wondering what could have prompted such a bizarre outburst.
“I’ve been playing the same damn songs for 50 years,” said Clapton in a statement released after the concert. “I’m tired of pretending to feel emotions for the sake of entertainment. From now on, I’m only playing songs that I actually enjoy, like ‘Wonderful Tonight’ and ‘Layla’.“
The incident has sparked a heated debate among fans, with some calling it a courageous act of artistic freedom while others demand refunds for the “disrespectful and unprofessional” behavior.
“I paid good money to see Clapton, not some washed-up old man flipping the bird,” said concertgoer Sarah Johnson. “I want my money back.”
Clapton, however, remains unapologetic, saying, “I’ve been holding back for far too long. It’s time for me to be true to myself and play the music I want to play.“
The musician’s next concert is scheduled for next month, where he plans to play a set entirely composed of songs by the band Cream, although the band has not been active for decades.
