Fans of Thrice were in for a treat last night when the band performed from a moving ambulance, joining the growing trend of artists getting creative with their live performances.
The band had been riding around in the ambulance all day, stopping at various locations to perform their classic hits, such as ‘The Artist in the Ambulance’ and ‘For Miles’. The performance was live-streamed, and fans could follow the ambulance’s route in real time.
The performance began with a bang as Thrice went to a local hospital, bringing the staff to tears with their heartwarming rendition of ‘The Artist in the Ambulance’. From there, the ambulance made its way to a nearby school, where the band gave an impromptu lesson in politics with “Black Honey.”
Fans were left in shock and awe when frontman Dustin Kensrue assisted paramedics in delivering a baby during the ending interlude of ‘Don’t Tell and We Won’t Ask’. The crowd was moved to tears, and the band earned a standing ovation, the child making its debut into the world as Dustin sang, “Don’t we all know, life is sacred.”
The performance concluded with a special encore performance of ‘For Miles’, dedicated to all healthcare workers and first responders who have been instrumental in keeping people safe during the pandemic.
The performance was met with a standing ovation from the fans who had been following the ambulance’s journey, and the band was praised for their innovative approach to the live music experience. As one fan put it, “Thrice has done it again! This was one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to!“
Thrice also announced a new album, “Quarantine Sessions”, recorded entirely in the lead singer Dustin Kensrue’s home during the pandemic. The album features collaborations with household items such as Dustin’s vacuum cleaner and toaster oven, with tracks like “Dyson’s Lament” and “Toasted Love” sure to become fan favorites.
Making the day even more momentous, Thrice also tentatively announced for their next tour, they will take things to new heights by performing on top of a moving rollercoaster. Fans will be given the option to ride the rollercoaster while the band plays or watch from the ground.
It’s clear that Thrice is not afraid to push the boundaries of live music performances, and their unique approach has once again proven to be a success. We can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
