Billionaire entrepreneur and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, announced that he, too had to scrape together billions of dollars and take out high-interest loans with banks to purchase Twitter.
“I know, it’s crazy,” said Musk in a recent interview. “I always thought of myself as different from the average person, but it turns out I’m just like everyone else when it comes to buying a social media platform.”
According to sources close to Musk, the billionaire had been eyeing Twitter for quite some time and was determined to make it his own, even if it meant taking on a mountain of debt and spending every last cent of his fortune.
“I know what it’s like to struggle,” said Musk, who reportedly had to sell his prized collection of rare memes to afford the purchase. “I remember the days of living paycheck to paycheck, just like all of you commoners out there. It’s a tough life, but it’s worth it when you finally get your hands on that sweet, sweet Twitter account.“
Musk says he has no regrets about the purchase despite the financial strain and is excited to share his thoughts and musings with the world, 140 characters at a time.
“I may be a billionaire, but at the end of the day, I’m just like you,” said Musk. “I too had to sacrifice everything for the love of Twitter.“
