Periphery recently performed an entire gig without realizing that their instruments had been mysteriously replaced with a Macbook Pro.
The band had just begun their set at the sold-out venue when two mysterious figures, who were later identified as tech wizards, appeared on stage and unplugged all of the band’s instruments. Without missing a beat, the tech wizards plugged in a Macbook Pro and proceeded to leave the stage, leaving the band completely unaware of what had just happened.
To the surprise of many audience members, the band continued to play their entire set without realizing that they were not actually playing and it was a Macbook Pro running an unlicensed copy of Reaper. Guitarist Misha Mansoor was especially clueless, as he continued to strum the non-existent strings of his guitar and sing as if nothing had changed.
The audience was stunned by the band’s obliviousness and many began to speculate that the tech wizards had used some sort of hypnosis on the band to make them think they were still playing real instruments.
When asked about the incident, Mansoor said he had no idea what had occurred. He said the gig had felt a little off but he just assumed it was because they had been playing so hard.
This strange incident has shocked the metal music community, as it has become clear that even the most seasoned bands can be tricked into being played by Macbook Pro.
