It was supposed to be an act of kindness: I adopted a parrot from an animal shelter. But I hadn’t counted on the parrot’s affinity for Creed songs. Now, all I hear day and night is a constant refrain of “My Sacrifice,” “With Arms Wide Open,” and other anthems from the 2000s.
The problem began shortly after I brought the parrot home. As I unpacked its cage in my living room, I suddenly heard the unmistakable opening notes of “What If.” I was startled initially, but then I realized it came from the parrot. I’m not sure where he learned the song, but he was singing the words perfectly.
Since then, I’ve been subjected to a non-stop parade of Creed songs. Every morning when I wake up, I’m greeted with “One Last Breath.” During lunch, it’s “What’s This Life For.” And when I come home from work, I’m serenaded with “Higher.”
I’ve tried everything to get the parrot to stop singing Creed songs. I’ve tried playing classical music, but he responds with a rousing rendition of “Bullets.” I’ve tried talking to him, but he answers with, “Are You Ready?” I’ve even tried giving him treats, but I only get “My Own Prison.”
At this point, I’m at my wit’s end. I can’t take it anymore. Does anyone out there have any advice on how to get this parrot to stop singing Creed songs? Please, I’m begging you – help me!
