System of A Down Announces Surprise Album: ‘Yoga for Beginners’

The popular alternative metal band System of A Down has announced a surprise new album, titled ‘Yoga for Beginners.’ The album will be released on April Fool’s Day, though the band insists it is no joke.

Lead singer Serj Tankian shared a brief statement about the upcoming album: “We wanted to do something a little different this time around. We thought it would be fun to challenge ourselves and our fans. We’ve always been passionate about helping people find inner peace and physical fitness, so this album seemed like the perfect way to express that.”

The album will feature 10 tracks, each of which will feature guided yoga instructions and uplifting mantras set to a unique blend of alternative metal and ambient music. Some tracks will even include vocal interludes by Tankian himself, sharing words of wisdom and encouragement.

Tankian also teased that the album will include a special hidden track, which he says will be a “unique surprise” to longtime fans of the band.

Fans have been quick to express their enthusiasm for the new album and its concept. “I’m really excited to hear this,” one fan posted on Twitter. “I’ve always been a big fan of System of A Down, and this sounds like a really cool way to experience their music in a whole new way.”

Some fans, however, insist that it’s a home and SOAD will release an album of trademark heavy music after keeping fans waiting for so long, “great joke guys, now can you just release some real music?“, Tweeted another agitated fan.

When asked on how he would be incorporating his unique guitar playing style into the album Daron Malakian replied, “I’m not sure yet, maybe I’ll do some finger-style yoga? We’ll see.

The band is currently hard at work on the album, and is expected to release the full tracklist and other details in the coming months. Until then, fans can only speculate what the album will sound like.
