Local band, “The Soundwaves” were left stunned after their performance at Joe’s Bar last night when they discovered that not a single audience member had noticed that their guitarist, Jim, had been playing out of tune for the entire set.
“We couldn’t believe it,” said lead singer Sally. “We had a little huddle backstage and were like, ‘did anyone else notice that Jim’s guitar was completely out of tune?’ But it turns out nobody did.”
The incident has raised questions about the musical knowledge of the band’s fans, with many asking if anyone in the audience can truly be considered a “fan” if they didn’t notice such a fundamental mistake.
“It’s just a shame,” said drummer John. “We put so much effort into rehearsing, and to have it all undone by one out-of-tune guitar is a kick in the teeth.“
Despite the disappointment, the band has decided to continue their tour and even considered incorporating Jim’s out-of-tune playing into their act as a “quirky” feature.
“I mean, it’s not like anyone noticed, right?” said Jim, shrugging his shoulders.
The band’s next performance is next week at the same venue, Joe’s Bar, where they will be playing a full set of out-of-tune music, with a sign that reads “Jim’s Special Set” on the stage.
The Soundwaves are not the only band facing this issue. Many bands around the world have been facing similar issues. This is raising a question, is anyone in the audience a true fan if they didn’t notice?
