Hip-hop legend and “Law and Order: SVU” star Ice-T caused a stir on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday when he demanded to be cryogenically frozen alive, just moments after receiving his own star on the iconic sidewalk.
The rapper-turned-actor shocked fans and reporters alike when he announced that he was “ready to be put on ice” and wanted his star relocated to a cryogenic facility, where he could spend eternity in suspended animation.
“I’ve accomplished everything I wanted to in this life, so why not try something new?” Ice-T said in a statement. “I’m ready to take the next step in human evolution, and I’m not going to let something as trivial as death stand in my way.“
Fans and colleagues were speechless as Ice-T was loaded into a specially-designed cryogenic capsule and transported to an undisclosed facility. He will reportedly undergo deep freezing and be preserved in suspended animation.
“Ice-T is a true innovator, and he’s always been one step ahead of the game,” said rapper and collaborator Dr Dre. “I’m not surprised that he’s decided to try something as bold as cryogenic freezing. I hope he’s comfortable in there.“
As for the star’s whereabouts, it’s still unclear whether it will be allowed to remain on the Hollywood Walk of Fame or if it will be moved to the cryogenic facility. Some fans have already begun leaving flowers and candles at the star’s location, while others are petitioning for its removal.
“I think it’s ridiculous to leave the star there,” said one fan. “If Ice-T wants to be frozen alive, then he should do it in a laboratory, not on a sidewalk.“
Whether or not the star remains on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one thing is for sure: Ice-T’s legacy as a groundbreaking rapper and actor will live on for generations, frozen in time and preserved for all eternity.
