The multi-platinum rock band Creed has announced their highly anticipated return to the stage with a comeback tour. But there’s just one catch: they need a little bit of money for gas for the tour van.
The band, which rose to fame in the late 90s with hits like “My Own Prison” and “One Last Breath,” has been largely inactive for the past decade. But lead singer Scott Stapp has promised fans that he and the rest of the guys are ready to take to the road again… if they can just get a loan for some gas money.
“We’ve tried to get a few record labels to back us, but so far no one has been willing to invest,” Stapp told reporters. “But we’re hoping that someone out there will be generous enough to lend us a few hundred bucks for gas so we can get this tour off the ground.”
The band members have been reaching out to fans on social media, asking them to help out with donations to make the tour a reality. So far they’ve raised $32, which they say is just enough to get them from Tampa to Jacksonville.
Stapp is optimistic that the tour will be a success and that the band will be able to pay back the money with ticket sales.
“We really believe in our music and our message,” he said. “We just need a little bit of help to get us going. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.”
Fans can donate to the band’s gas fund on their website. In exchange, they’ll get a special souvenir and a chance to meet the band at the tour kickoff.
So if you’re feeling generous and want to help out a legendary rock band, now’s your chance! Just a few bucks can help Creed get back on the road and into the hearts of their fans.
