In a bold move that has left the electronic music community reeling, Skrillex has debuted a new look: a haircut.
“I was tired of my old hairstyle,” Skrillex said in a press conference. “It was getting a little too ‘2010 dubstep bro’ for my liking, you know? So I decided to chop it all off and go for a more ‘2023 dubstep bro’ look.“
The haircut, which features a close-cropped buzz cut and a neatly trimmed beard, has been met with mixed reactions from fans. Some have praised the new look as a refreshing change, while others have criticized it as being too mainstream.
“I don’t know what to think,” said longtime Skrillex fan Jake Johnson. “On one hand, I think the haircut looks great on him. But on the other hand, I’m worried that this means he’s going to start making mainstream EDM music.“
Despite the backlash, Skrillex stands by his decision to debut the new look.
“I’m not going to change who I am just to please other people,” he said. “I’m an artist, and I’m always going to do what I feel is right for my art.“
The new haircut will make its official debut at Skrillex’s upcoming live shows, where fans can expect to see the producer and DJ sporting his new look while dropping bass-heavy beats and creating crowd-pleasing dubstep tracks.
“I hope everyone will come out to see my new look and hear my new music,” Skrillex said. “I promise it’s going to be one hell of a show.“
