Pop icon Miley Cyrus has just announced the release of her latest single, “Flowers,” on January 13th. While the title may sound sweet and innocent, one must ask: do we really need another flower song?
That’s right, Miley is taking her highly successful flower-filled musical career to the next level with yet another flower-themed song. With the release of “We Can’t Stop,” “Wrecking Ball,” and “Malibu,” it’s clear that Miley is no stranger to flowery lyrics.
But this is getting a bit too much, don’t you think? What is the point of releasing yet another flower song? We already have enough flower songs out there. We don’t need another one.
Perhaps Miley is running out of ideas. Or maybe she’s just trying to give her fans something to remember her by. Whatever the case may be, we can all agree that this is a bit much.
The chorus is quite catchy and there are references aplenty, once again Miley sings about her father Billy Ray Cyrus and the allegations he steals catalytic converters (a topic she has brought up in other songs). Read the chorus lyrics and make up your own mind.
“Stealin’ catalytic converters, that’s what Daddy does
Gonna make a lot of money, but I ain’t making a fuss
The cops don’t seem to care, they just turn their head
But we got a fortune just like the petals of a flower“
So what are we to do when January 13th rolls around? Do we celebrate the release of yet another flower song? Do we ignore it and pretend it never happened? Or do we embrace it, despite its obvious redundancy?
Only time will tell. But one thing is for sure: Miley Cyrus is not done with flowers yet.
