Local dad, Dave Johnson, is turning heads in his hometown after a video of him playing an air guitar solo at a traffic light went viral.
The video, taken by a nearby passerby, shows Johnson strumming along to Polyphia’s track “Ego Death” at the intersection of 4th and Main. Johnson can be seen taking the solo in stride, perfectly nailing the fast-paced fretwork with the enthusiasm of a seasoned pro.
The video quickly spread across the town’s social media pages, with many praising Johnson’s impressive display of air guitar prowess.
“I’m a fan of Polyphia, so when I saw Dave playing their song at the traffic light, I knew I had to record it,” said the passerby. “I think he’s an inspiration to all of us to take a break from our daily lives and just shred!“
In the meantime, Johnson’s newfound fame has made him a local celebrity, with many people stopping him on the street to congratulate him on his performance.
Dave’s wife says that he has been playing air guitar since he was six years old, “Dave used to get all the girls because of how good he is at air guitar“, Janet Johnson says, “He’s quite fast with his fingers, if you know what I mean?” she unnecessarily adds.
As for the next song Dave has been practising? He is tight-lipped on that one. “Let’s just say, it’s just as challenging and might even feature a guest guitarist“, Dave coyly replies. Stay tuned for more air guitar prowess from Dave soon.
