It’s no secret that Coachella is the go-to music festival for discovering the latest and greatest bands, but this year festival-goers may be scratching their heads when they hear one of the artists for 2023: Knocked Loose.
The little-known hardcore punk band from Kentucky has been making waves in the underground music scene, but it seems their recent announcement as Coachella headliners has left many concert goers asking, “Who?”
One Twitter user even tweeted, “Knocked Loose? Is that a new type of beer?”, “Who tf is Knocked Loose?” someone else Tweeted. “I’m not sure if I’m more surprised that Coachella is still a thing or that I don’t know this band,” another wrote.
In response to the confusion, Knocked Loose frontman Bryan Garris said, “We know this may come as a bit of a surprise, but trust us, we’ve got some big things planned for 2023!“
He went on to say, “We know our music isn’t exactly mainstream, but we’re hoping that our passion and energy will be enough to get people into the pit and ready to mosh!“
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Garris spoke about the band’s plans for the festival, saying, “We’ve already got some pretty cool ideas in mind, including a huge mosh pit, a live performance of our signature song ‘Lifeless’ and an animal petting zoo with llamas for our encore.”
Only time will tell if Knocked Loose can pull off their ambitious plans for Coachella, but one thing is for certain: this is sure to be a festival that no one will soon forget.
