In the music industry, touring is key to promoting your band and getting your music out to the masses. But when it comes to Afghanistan, it seems many bands draw the line. From U2 to Metallica, no one is willing to set foot in the war-torn country. But why?
The obvious answer is that they’re all cowards, too afraid to risk their lives in a war zone. But there might be something more to it. Is it possible that these bands are actually racists and don’t want to associate with the people of Afghanistan?
It’s hard to say for sure, but it’s worth noting that very few bands have been willing to tour the country. While other war-torn countries such as Iraq and Syria have seen their share of rock stars, Afghanistan has been left off the list. So what gives?
Perhaps the answer lies in the band’s reluctance to put themselves in harm’s way. After all, Afghanistan is a dangerous place, and no one wants to get caught in the crossfire. But it’s also possible that these bands don’t want to be associated with the people of Afghanistan and would rather stick to more “acceptable” countries.
Whatever the reason, it’s clear that Afghanistan is being left out of the music industry. And that’s a real shame because it’s a country filled with culture and history and deserves recognition and celebration.
Hopefully, one day, a brave band will come along and take the plunge – and show the world that Afghanistan isn’t just a war-torn country but a land of music and beauty with a murderous Islamic regime in control.
