In a long-awaited announcement, djent pioneers Periphery has finally revealed the release of their highly anticipated new album titled Periphery V – The Sound of a Million Guitars Tuning.
According to the band’s lead singer, Spencer Sotelo, the new album is a “tribute to the often overlooked art of guitar tuning.” “We wanted to pay homage to the unsung heroes of the music world: the guitar techs,” Sotelo said in a recent interview.
Fans of the band are excited about the new album, with many claiming that it will be the “heaviest thing ever.” “I can’t wait to headbang to the sound of a million guitars tuning,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
But not everyone is convinced. “I’m not sure if I can handle a 21-minute track,” said one sceptic. “My attention span isn’t what it used to be.” another fan commented, “I’m just not sure if I’m ready for an entire album of guitar tuning,“
Despite the mixed reactions, Periphery remains confident in its new material. “We think it’s a revolutionary concept,” Sotelo said. “We can’t wait for our fans to hear it.“
Guitarist Misha Mansoor also had something to say, but it was unintelligible.
The tracklist for the album is as follows:
- Drop D-Day – “Instrumental Combat”
- Chug of War – “A String Theory”
- Boogie Woogie in E Standard – “The Battle for Fretboard Freedom”
- The Battle of the Bs – “The Pentatonic Showdown”
- The C#m Showdown – “String Theory Warfare”
- Battle of the Fifths – “Alternate Tunings Everywhere”
- War of the Open Strings – “The Great Truss-Rod Battle”
- The Final Battle – “The Unison Showdown”
The release date for The Sound of a Million Guitars Tuning has not yet been announced, but fans can expect to be blown away by the band’s unique take on the often-overlooked art of guitar tuning when it hits stores. Or at least, that’s what the band is hoping for.
