Joe Rogan has weighed in on the debate about whether djent is a real music genre, but in a surprise twist, Rogan took the conversation in a much more outrageous direction.
Rogan, a well-known podcast host and standup comedian, has become a bit of an expert on the topic of djent since he recently had a guest on his show discussing the issue.
However, Rogan’s opinion on the matter was overshadowed by his lengthy and bizarre discussion of DMT goblins. Rogan’s guest, a Stanford djent professor, seemed perplexed by Rogan’s sudden interest in DMT goblins and the ensuing conversation.
Rogan then went on to expound on his theories of DMT goblins and their potential to shape the future of djent. He stated that the DMT goblins could be the secret ingredient in djent music needed to make it truly stand out. He went on to say that the goblins could help to bring a unique flavour to the genre that could potentially make it an even bigger hit than it currently is.
The guest, a Stanford djent professor, couldn’t help but laugh at the end of Rogan’s strange rant. After the laughter died down, the guest thanked Rogan for his insights but couldn’t help but feel like the conversation deviated from the original topic of djent.
Spotify has since taken down the controversial interview after Periphery guitarist Misha Mansoor threatened legal action against Rogan for misleading listeners about djent. Although, Mansoor did agree with Rogan’s belief that DMT goblins could be the thing djent needs to reinvigorate itself.
